MLK Day of Service

My two teens and I participated in the MLK day of service this year by volunteering at a local church.
What can I say other than it was chaotic, hardwork and I am glad we were able to participate!
So, if you did not participate this year, please take the time to do so next year!

New Year's Eve Bash and a Purse Cake

This New Year's Eve was hosted by my sister.  Yea, she is the hostess with the mostest..lol!
It was a Belated Birthday celebration and New Year Eve's party all rolled into one night.  We had a blast!  Anyway, she asked me to make her a very special cake for this occasion.  She requested a purse cake. (Ok, I am into cake decorating as well..:))  I luuuve it!!  It's so much fun and it's another way for me to express my creativity.
The cake was vanilla with white buttercream frosting, covered in dark chocolate fondant, yummy!

Happy New Year

Don't you love just love Pink!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, I sure did!  My sister hosted dinner at her home and I did not have to bring a thing... I just love my sister, she the bestest sister everrrrrrr...lol!!   We had a great time, hanging out and just enjoying ourselves.   I am so blessed to have a such a caring, loving family.

Now on to my craft share of the day...

My sister asked me to make her some birthday cards for younger kids.  I made her quite a few cards last year, but she discovered that most of the birthday parties she frequents are for kids 10 and under.  Since I already had my craft supplies out ( just finishing up making Christmas cards), I made 4 girl cards and 4 boy cards.  I thought I had taken pictures of the boy cards, but they are not in my file.  I am not sure what happened with those.   I do have pictures of the girl cards.  I am posting those today, aren't they cute?  All pink and stuff!

For these two cards, I used my Cricut Expression.  I used the Hello Kitty Cartridge for the first one and the Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge for the second one.   This was the first time using the Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge and I will definitely be using this one again!

For these two cards, I just cut with my Fiskars cutter and stamped.  The flowers were made using the Stampin Up scallop punch.  I just cut each scallop individually and scrunched, if that makes sense.  Added a little bling and there you have it.

2011 Christmas Cards

Today is Christmas Eve.  The year has gone by sooo fast.  Can you believe in another week, it will be 2012.  Wow!!!  I am gearing up for my wrapping marathon later tonight, so wish me luck..lol!!

Now for my craft share of the day....

Here are Christmas cards I created for this year.  They turned out sooo cute.   To create these wonderful cards, I used my Cricut Expression on the red, gold and green ones.  I love that machine!!  On the other 2, I used the Fiskars papercutter.  AC Moore was selling this cutter on Black Friday for $5.00.   What a deal, right!   Ohhh and it cuts sooo smooth.  Love it:)  So, with a little embossing, a little bling, 2 fantastic cutting tools and some wonderful Stampin Up whisper white cardstock, I was able to make the cutest Christmas cards this year.

Oh and please bear with me on the photos..I know they are not the greatest.  I have alot to learn about photography..lol!!  They will get better I promise.:)

Merry Christmas
Kim
